When Thing's Don't Go As Planned

Today, we were supposed to help a pet owner transport her pets from her abuser to a foster family. She showed up at the house with the police to pick up the dogs, but the abuser refused to give them up; not because he wanted the pets, but because he wanted to hurt her. The pet owner did not have a court order so there was nothing we could do.

Now the pet owner has to get a court order to remove her pets from an abusive home, which will take time. All the while, she will be worrying about the safety of her pets.

We will continue to support her throughout this time period, and will keep her on the time of the waitlist for a future foster family once she is allowed to take her pets from the home.

This is a hard part of what we do. Yes, we give hope to people that desperately need it. But sometimes there are unforeseen bumps in the road. Giving people a choice to keep their pets while taking the necessary steps for a better life make all the hard moments worth it.

We ask that you pray for this pet owner, that she will continue to feel comforted, not only by our organization, but by God. We ask that you pray for her safety and her pets safety.

We ask that you pray for the foster family, who were excited about fostering this pet and may be discouraged from fostering again.

Thank you all for your prayers and for supporting the work that we do. Let's keep working together to better our community one pet owner at a time.
